UFISU at the Labor Day Parade

UFISU will be walking in the Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 1, and we need our members to show our strength by participating. We'll also have a gathering at the home of one of our members who lives near the end of the parade route. Families are welcome and encouraged!

Where?

Meet up in downtown Bloomington near the inter section of Front and Center Streets (kind of by the McLean County Justice Center). Look for the green shirts!

When?

Meet up around 9:15. The parade should be finished by ~10:30. Folks are invited to then proceed to the after party gathering.

What's the route?

We start in downtown Bloomington and end near Miller Park. The total distance is about 1 mile.

Can't/Don't want to walk that far?

We'll have a truck pulling a 12-foot trailer, so bring a chair and come along for a ride!

What do I need?

Wear your 💚💚green UPI shirts💚💚 and of course be sure to bring lots of water, sun protection, and some good walking shoes. We've got lots of candy to give out, so no need to bring any.

What about parking?

We recommend parking either at the garage near the start of the route or at Miller park near the end of the route. We will likely be able to arrange some rides from one end to the other if you let us know you need one!

Also there will be a party in the backyard of immediately following parade across the street from Miller park
